Opportunities with University for the Creative Arts?
Early discussion with the newly expanded
University, here in Farnham – the UCA – about closer working is
proving very encouraging. The University certainly recognise the
potential of the Redgrave in this area, for its students across so
many disciplines and also has an ambition to be more closely
involved with the town.
Their expanding range of studies does mean there would be synergy
between their future needs and what FTA might be able to help
deliver to them.
The present financial cuts to universities have meant a scaling back
of plans to expand the Farnham campus, but the enthusiasm for the theatre
project has not diminished amongst staff and students. We look forward to
reviving the project when times are better.
We’ll keep you posted on developments.

Research Centres
Students are also attracted to our Farnham campus for its excellent research facilities. It is home to the Animation Research Centre, the Crafts Study Centre and the much acclaimed Centre for Sustainable Design, as well as the Arts & Humanities Data Service for Visual Arts.
Facilities & Support
Facilities include the James Hockey Gallery and the Foyer Gallery, which run public exhibitions throughout the year. There is an extensive Library and Learning Centre offering all associated services, and appropriate studios, equipment and software are all widely available. A Student Services team and chaplaincy provide support and advice on a range of issues, including finance, welfare and disability, and English language support is standard throughout all campuses.
